Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure landed his third successive African Footballer of the Year award on Thursday to cap a memorable week,after winning the BBC award for the same category a couple of months ago.After given the award,dressed in traditional Nigerian robes,he said to the audience:
"I'm very proud and happy to be the winner today,"
"I congratulate my brother Obi Mikel who deserved it as well. It's an unbelievable award for all those who helped me through my career a lot and those who supported me for a long time."
The Ivorian came top of a poll voted by Africa's national team coaches, who had Mikel second and Drogba third.
Also,Coach Stephen Keshi and Kelechi Iheanacho won the coach of the year and most promising talent respectively.The Nigeria supporters were not left out as they also got the CAF fair play award.Nigeria also got the award for the National team of the year and youth National team of the year.
We say congrats to them all and the new king of Africa-Yaya Toure.

Arsenal gives fans New year gift as Chelsea,Manchester city and Liverpool record wins respectively
Arsenal still continue to show their league prowess as late goals from Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott kept them top of the Premier League in a 2-0 win over Cardiff City as Manchester City and Chelsea stayed hot with victories on Wednesday.Bendtner shot home in the 88th minute and Walcott scored in the 90th minute.After this game,Arsenal leads with 45 points,one point ahead of top rivals Manchester City.
Manchester City defeated Swansea City after battling to a 3-2 scoreline in which saw CAF african player nominee,Yaya Toure scoring in the 58th minute as Chelsea beat Southampton 3-0.Torres,Willian and Oscar gave Chelsea the needed points after scoring in the 60th,71st and 82nd minutes respectively.Chelsea is now 3rd with 43 points.
Liverpool regained a top-four spot with as Luis Suarez netted for the 20th time this season.
A Leighton Baines penalty in stoppage time rescued a 1-1 draw at Stoke City for Everton, who dropped to fifth, and Newcastle United stumbled in a 1-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion.
At the other end of the table, Fulham edged 10-man West Ham United 2-1 and they stay second from bottom as Sunderland remain rooted to the foot of the table after losing 1-0 at home to Aston Villa.
